Music: Jaya

Jaya is a famous British Indian Singer from U.K., who took the Urban/Desi music industry by surprise when she signed with Universal Music while releasing her single “Do it Again.”  This song is one of most listened songs by her fans.  For this song Jaya said “It’s about those moments when it doesn’t matter how tired you are, how much your feet hurt – just want to get up and dance a have a good time.”  She also said her album has pop,RnB,dance, upbeat and mid tempo songs, also they are songs you can dance to, songs you cry to, songs that you can laugh to (not at all!).  Jaya said when you create an album you don’t want a bundle of songs that all sound the same so, I’ve put something for everyone on there.” This is a quote from an artist who wants her audience the receive quality in her songs.

Jaya is also everything you need in an artist, someone is who is confident, good looking, creative, and the strongest in keeping a positive outlook on whatever she does.  She always wants to do something positive to make history even if it was in a small way.  She wants people to know her as that famous singer people will always remember.  She wants people know that Indian people could sing and are worth the commercial time.  She also wants to people to know who Indian people are and what they can do.

Jaya told DesiHits that she is working on another album with celebrities like Hawkeye, Jonas Jeberg, and Parker and James.  She is positive that this is going to be a good track with different songs.  It will be the album that everyone will want to listen as she promised.  However she chooses not to give the name of album until it has been released.

Jaya appeared in It’s a Wonderful Afterlife’ UK Premiere at the Oden West End cinema April 2010 and the West is West – Premiere: 54^th BFI London Film Festival in October 2010 in London England.  With these two shows she became more famous in the music industry.  

Jaya is a singer that is sure going work on her albums night and day until it is perfect the way the wants it.  She has a lot of courage and isn’t afraid to show her talents against millions of people.

Music: Anjulie

Anjulie the US & Bollywood singer has a great voice and lyrics. She is also talented and is good looking. She was born in Ontario, Canada and her parents are from Guyanese Indian decent and she is the youngest of four children.

Anjulie has been addicted to music and writing since she was a teenager. Artist like Annie Lennox, U2 and Prince heavily have influenced her music. She wrote a wonderful song called “Sat Goodbye to Jr. High.”  In this song she played a background voice in Emma Robert’s CD “Unfabulous and More.” This is what got her started as the commanding new presence in the music industry.

Her first single was “Boom” which was released on November 11^th 2008.  This album was co-written by Jon Levine of the Philosopher Kings.  She first met Levine as an intern at Metalworks Recording Studio in Mississauga, Canada. Her second and third single was “Love Songs” and “Rain” which were both released in 2009. All three songs were in her first album “Anjulie.”  All three singles were listed in the top ten of U.S. Dance in 2009.  However, there is more to know about her other singles “Crazy that Way” and “The Heat” were featured on MTV’s The Hills, Addicted2Me and The City.  Her single Boom was featured in Eastwick, Melrose Place, The Vampire Dairies, and Canada’s Next Top Model. In October 2009 “Love Songs” reached Top 20 Billboard’s Hot Dance/Club Party.  In October 2009 she appeared Pinktober benefit concert at HardRock Café in Hollywood as the special guest.

In 2009 she was nominated in the The MTV Video Music Award for “Breakthrough in a Video.”  In the fall of 2009 she toured with artist Shawyze and Bobby Ray across the United States.  She has also toured with Rapheal Saadiq in November 2009.

Anjulie has sure become one of the top artists around the world.  As she gets more opportunities people will know more about her music.  She is now on the verge to become a successful artist.

Shahrukh Khan is back as the king for “Don 2.”  This movie was released on December 23^rd, 2011, which is an action film.  This film is also the sequel from the first film Don: The Chase Begins Again and remind people of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.  The movie was rated 3 stars by Desihits.com and has made 75 million core in it box office debut.

The European Drug Cartel senses a treat that is in their way that is Don (Shahrukh Khan).  In order for them to eliminate Don they meet up with French Rivera, a criminal mastermind to set up a plan.  The reason the European Drug Cartel want Don dead is because his is selling drugs at a cheaper price.  To eliminate the competition, the bosses of the European Cartel send their hit-man to kill Don.

Don has been living in a remote location in Thailand for the past five year where he picks up his drug supplies.  One day, he was on his way to pick up a shipment of drugs and runs into the hit-man of the European Drug Cartel. Then he fights his way out of the situation in an action packed scene.

After the fight with the European Drug Cartel he goes back to Malayasia and surrenders to inspector Roma and Malik.  Don is then sentenced to a death penalty and is sent to a Malaysian prison where he meets his former rival Varbhaan(Boman Irani), in order to escape the prison they both poison all the inmates and run out to Zurich, SwitzerLand where they meet Don’s girlfriend Ayesha(Lara Dutta).  In Zurich they search and find a locker that only Varbhaan can crack.  Inside the locker is a tape of the Vice President of a Euro printing bank named DZB and his name is Diwan.  On this tape, shows Diwan bribing someone to kill a competitor against his bank.  Dons blackmails Diwan to get some blueprints of the bank, so that he can get his hands on some printing plates to print money his own money.   When at the Bank Don realizes that Diwan has given him the wrong information and has a brawl with an assassin that Diwan hired.  Don also gets the assassin on his side, so that he can get the real information from Diwan.

Now Don and Varbhaan’s team go to the bank to steal the printing plates.  To make the bank robbery successful they take some hostages as leverage.  Next thing you know Varbhaan and his team turn against Don’s team Don’s and Vardhaans team get into a brawl as Don’s team manage to survive.  One of Varbhaan team members remains loyal to Don, only to follow Don’s plan into having the police on his side.  Meanwhile Inspector Roma and Don finally manage to reach Varbhaan.  Varbhaan tells Roma to kill Don but refuses to do so, for that she gets shot by Varbhaan.  Don chases after Varbhaan and his thugs and defeats them.  Don takes Roma to an ambulance so that the bullet wound can get cared for.

Now Don plants a bomb in Diwan car only to make the police believe that Diwan was killed in the car with the printing plates to the bank.  However, Don has the printing plates and he gives a disc to police with all the names European Drug Cartel.  All of the members are arrested and Don becomes the mastermind of the criminal underworld.

Ladies vs Ricky Bahl is the next romantic comedy movie that you would want to see.  This movie received a rating of 3 stars from Bollywood Hungama which was released on December 9^th 2011 and made a total of 33 million core.  Actors Ranveer Singh who plays as Ricky Bahl and Parineeti Chopra who play as Dimple Chaddha, both of these actors co-star together since their first movie “Band Baaja Baarat” in 2010.

Ricky Bahl is a con artist who has a smart mind on tricking rich girls.  He has the skills to pick any girl that he wants, when he is dating these girls for money instead of love.  One of the ways that Ricky Bahl get these girls to give them money is by playing on their need for love.

Dimple Chaddha is student at Delhi University who think Ricky Bahl is a fitness trainer named Sunny Singh.  Her friend Saira Rashid (Adti Sharma) knows him as Iqba Khan who is shy guy.  Her other friend Raina Parulekar(Dipannita Sharma) knows him as Deven Shah who is an art dealer.  Little do these girls know they are being conned by same guy.  Ricky Bahl tricks the girls into loving them, so that they can give him money.

Ricky Bahl runs away with large sums of money while the girls finally find out what just happen to them.  The girls want their money back as they call their friend Ishika Desai (Anushka Sharma) who is a salesperson that knows how to con people for their money.  While Ishika searches for Ricky she meets him at a bar.  Ricky knows that Ishika is attracted to him.  So the next thing he does is that he dresses as Vikarm Thapper and acts as Ricky’s friend by giving Ishika flower from Ricky’s request.

The next day she meets Ricky at his job which is by the beach and tells him that she wants to invest in a restaurant.  Ricky agrees to help her with investing in her restaurant, because he wants to con her out of her profits. So for the next few days Ricky and Ishika are seen together while being spied by Dimple and her two friends.  After their time together they go to a business meeting standing next to each other looking at fireworks, after that they attend a disco party and while dancing together they both fall love and kiss each other.  After the party Ricky drops off Ishika, on his way home he turns around his car so that he can confess to Ishika that loves Ishika, on his way home he arrives at Ishika’s house, he finds out that Ishika and her three friends are trying to con him.  Even though he knows he walks into Iishka tells her that he really loves her, but Ishika looks for Dimple and her friend’s for advice.  Dimple and her friends tell Ishika to accept his proposal into falling in love with her.

Ishika friends only want Ricky with Ishika, so that they can have Ricky talk to Ishika dad to buy some property.  Dimple and her friends look at this as a way for Ricky to give back the money that he conned from them.  The girls now find out that they only get back a small amount of their money and balme Ishika.  As Dimple and her friends go back to their place they find Ricky sitting in front of their door. Ricky tells them that his love is true for Ishika and returns all of their money.

The following day Ricky finds Ishika at her job and desperately proposes to marry him as Ishika loves him she accepts his proposal and both kiss each other.  The movie ends with the song “Thug Le.”

This movie will make you sit back and weep as Parinteeta Chopra plays great role in this movie.  The moive is full with energy and romance and cons.  This movie will show people that there is now way of tricking true love.

“Pappu Can’t Dance Saala” is the movie that you will make laugh on the floor.  This is the next Indian comedy that you need to see.  This movie focuses on two main characters that can’t stop arguing against each other.  The movie was released on December, 16^th 2011.

Neha Dupia plays as Mahek who is a girl that wants to be a famous dancer but has a hard time learning to dance.  She is from a small town called Mumbai and wishes to make her dreams come true as a dancer.  She goes to her neighbor Vidhyadhar, who is played by Vinay Pathak, he is a simple and a sweet guy who just wants to live his life the right way.

They have one thing in common livening sales tax society, are non-government slaves, and are always given the red card the vigilance department.

One day Mahek is thrown out of her home and finds comfortable place to stay at Vidhyadher’s house.  Mahek and Vidhyadhar meet eye to eye as their tale begins to twist.  Vidhyadher teaches Mahek how to dance so the she can become a great dancer. After her lessons with Vidhyadher, Mahek becomes as expert at dance and then hostesses a party, so that she can prove people that she can dance.

Mahek does an amazing performance along with the help of Vidhyadhar.  Mahek also astonishes everybody as they applause to her performance on the dance floor.

If you’re a dance fanatic this is the movie not to miss.  “Pappu Can’t Dance Saala” will get you on the dance floor next time you visit a night club.  This is also the comedy grabber which lives up to its credit.

Dirty Picture has made an astonishing 50 core in its box office debut.  The movie was produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor.  Dirty Picture was released on December 2^nd 2011 and the film has become an unlikely success in the bollywood film industry.

The movie is about a village girl that sees herself conguering India. She is desperate for a job to become a star being attractive by millions of men.  The main character of the movie is Reshma Sumitha (Vidya Balan) who wishes to live on her own, and she uses her sexuality to lure men.

Reshma is what every men dreams of in India, with the love, desire, and fantasy.  Reshma also exposes herself trough out the movie and seduces men with her feminine body.

There is an unforgettable scene where Reshma gets an award from her former lover.  He tells her that he has met many women like her.  While having a cigarette Reshma tells her former lover that a women body is a dirty picture.

The story of the movie also goes along with Reshma being born with lights and cameras surrounding her and her parents did not raise her to be this way.

Towards the end of the movie she realizes that exposing herself to other men has made her vulnerable.  She does not receive the attention from men like she used to, and they think she has no standards for herself, as a result, Reshma commits suicide. This dramatic scene tends to grab the audience’s attention.

This movie is brilliant on two levels.  The first level is that it’s the acute portrayal of the male hypocrisy, but more it portrays how sexuality liberates women and, the second level is that is goes beyond peoples sociological roots and the movie has a means of liberating the power of sexuality.

In this movie Vidya Balan was comfortable with the role she plays.  She really has a lot of courage to play a role like this and she did in this movie.  Her producers Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor gave her great support as well.  Dirty Picture is sure to be the movie to remember when the Bollywood critics talk about it.
